As this school year comes to an end (wooohooo!!!) I find myself being extra- reflective. Are there things I could have done differently? Children I could have reached more effectively? Lessons I could have executed better? Parents I could have communicated with better? While on Pinterest the other day I found this list and felt like it might provide me with an excellent opportunity to achieve that last question I have for myself: communicating with parents. It's honestly the thing I struggle with most, often because by the time I see many parents they're already very upset. I'm strict. And young. And perhaps a bit too sarcastic for my own good. Sometimes that's a lethal combination with middle school students. Anyway, I thought this list might be a really perfect way to help some of my students' parents engage a little more with their art! It also is an excellent list of questions to ask my students as their teacher. Encouraging critical thinking skills is always a plus!
